Bone is dynamically regulated in growth, development and throughout adult life. Recent scientific advances have shed new light on the pathways by which this regulation occurs. This session will provide an overview of progress in bone biology and highlight potential new targets for therapeutic intervention.
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
- discuss the basic anatomy and physiology of bone
- review recent progress in the understanding of bone formation and degradation
- evaluate potential novel therapeutic targets for bone disease in arthritis and osteoporosis
