Post-menopausal osteoporosis is a common problem in daily clinical practice. There are other bone diseases that are less well known, missed or inadequately managed. This session will concentrate on how to recognize and manage lesser-known metabolic bone problems.
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
- discuss how to differentiate osteoporosis from osteomalacia
- order appropriate investigations in a male patient with osteoporosis
- develop a management plan for patients with Paget’s disease of bone
