Revealing RA at the Molecular Level: Biomarkers for Disease Activity Assessment in Rheumatoid Arthritis - Presented by Crescendo Bioscience

Session Type: Innovation Theater
Tuesday, November 8, 2011: 2:30 PM-3:15 PM
Hall F1 (Booth #789) (McCormick Place West)

Session Overview:
Regular quantitative measurement of disease activity with resulting treatment changes enables more effective management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Given the heterogeneous biology of RA, a test based on biomarkers involved in RA pathophysiology has the potential to provide a comprehensive picture of biological disease activity.  Studies show a multi-biomarker test can provide quantitative and reproducible information about RA disease activity.

Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

  • understand the role of biomarkers in measuring rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity
  • understand the studies behind the development and validation of a multi-biomarker RA disease activity test
  • understand the clinical utility of a multi-biomarker test for RA disease activity
